The owner of a company that specialises in direct marketing says that business confidence is on the rise despite the uncertainty surrounding the EU referendum debate.
Alastair Smith, who runs Print & Mail Runner, which is based in Hexham, Northumberland, says that he is seeing an upturn in enquiries for more traditional products such as leaflets and business cards.
He said: “There is definitely more positivity around when I talk to my clients. There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Euro vote but, for all that, many of my clients are feeling confident enough to increase their marketing budgets.
“They are also looking at traditional methods more and more. When email came along, some people said that it was the death of print but that has not proved to be the case.
“I am seeing companies who appreciate the value in something sent directly to people’s addresses, something that is of a good quality.
“We are definitely seeing a greater focus on quality from our clients and they are prepared to spend a little more on making their product attractive.
“I do not think they that we will ever go back to the heyday of direct marketing but we are certainly seeing a renewed recognition that it has its part to play in helping a business to get its message out.”
