Businesses ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ after referendum vote
The owner of a company that specialises in direct marketing says that business confidence remains buoyant despite the uncertainty surrounding the recent EU referendum vote

Alastair Smith, who runs Print & Mail Runner, which is based in Hexham, Northumberland and provides printing and mailing materials, says that his clients are displaying a resilient and pragmatic approach to doing business since the country voted to leave the EU

He said: “Despite the seismic nature of what happened on June 23, businesses are showing their practical approach and doing their utmost to keep doing what they have always done. “There may be uncertainty in the economy but they realise that they still have to market their business and we have not really seen a drop-off in the level of work since the referendum result was announced.

“Business people have always been pragmatic in their approach and I think that they are adopting the ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ motto following the Brexit vote. “I have been saying for some time that there is more positivity around when I talk to my clients and that has survived the vote, I think.

“Despite the uncertainty leading up to the vote and in the weeks since, many of my clients are still feeling confident enough to increase their marketing budgets and I think that will continue in the months to come.”
