Pioneering new Apprenticeship in intelligence analysis could be ‘a game changer’

Specialist Apprenticeships provider Inteltrain is offering an Intelligence Analysis Apprenticeship which could transform the way organisations handle information.

The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Intelligence Analysis is a new programme which enables learners to study a qualification tailored specifically to their job and which takes in everything from fraud prevention to the analysis of information before making strategic decisions.

Before the programme was launched, personnel were only able to take Business Administration or IT Apprenticeships, which tend to offer only office-based Apprenticeships which can prove to be less engaging.

However, with the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Intelligence Analysis they can achieve a qualification which is relevant to their role within an organisation.

The programme is aimed at people working in office-based roles with public and private sector organisations who gather and collate data from a wide range of sources.

Inteltrain believes that the programme is so different that it could prove to be a game changer and allow organisations to dramatically improve the way they handle information to achieve business goals.

The Apprenticeship is suitable for any role which requires the person to:

  • Collect data from a variety of sources
  • Analyse data to identify patterns and trends
  • Form assessments based on analysis
  • Create intelligence reports, statistical analysis products and intelligence-based presentations.

The Apprenticeship is ideal for anyone working in fraud detection and prevention, risk assessment, cyber threat and trend analysis roles, including Intelligence Analysts, Data Analysts, Fraud Analysts, Data Managers, Loss Adjustors, Fraud Teams and Compliance Managers.

Inteltrain says that it would work for organisations ranging from Council Counter Fraud and Tax Collection departments, HM Revenue & Customs, the UK Visa and Immigration Services, the police and the Serious Fraud Office to those in the energy, utility, waste management, chemicals and pharmaceuticals sectors.

The Apprenticeship could also assist insurance companies, debt recovery companies, banking and financial services organisations and IT businesses.

Nick Atkinson, Commercial Manager, said: “This is an exciting new product which fills a gap in the market.

“Organisations of all types handle vast amounts of data and the big challenge for them is knowing how to make sense of it all. Before we began offering the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Intelligence Analysis, an Apprentice seeking to work in data management could only really take a Business Administration Apprenticeship, which is really far too general.

“The new qualification is much more specialist and allows us to source Apprentices who will be highly trained in data management. It can also be used to train someone already working for the company as part of their Continuous Professional Development.

“At a time when there is so much concern about management of data, a qualification like this will be invaluable in providing more skilled employees.

“It’s a very challenging Apprenticeship, which offers excellent opportunities for personnel and can encourage staff retention.”
